There are several types of ear, hearing and balance disorders that run the gamut from minor wax buildup to complications that can cause facial paralysis and other debilitating problems. McKinney ENT Clinic provides treatment for a large number of conditions to help patients get back to normal so they can get on with their lives.
Ear, Hearing and Balance Disorders We Treat
There are three main components that make up the ear; the outer portion, the middle ear and the inner ear. The outer ear, connects to the ear canal. The eardrum separates the ear canal from the middle ear, where small bones help transmit sound to the inner portion of the ear. The inner portion contains the hearing, or auditory, nerve, which goes to the brain.
However, the ear is not just vital to hearing, but to helping you maintain your balance as well. If there is an issue such as an infection, that could make it very hard to keep your equilibrium.
